I know, I know. You don’t have to tell me. I jumped the gun last time. The last few weeks of summer are still hanging in the air.
Those few leaves I saw dancing down the road on Friday were a mirage. The crisp, cool air I felt last week was an illusion. Fall is on it’s way, but it’s not here yet.
I know why people love summer. The concerts, the vacations, the break from school. Summer is a free fall into fun. But by the time it’s over, I always feel a little worse for wear.
Which means, by the time that labor day has come, I’m in desperate need for some self care.
So, I thought we’d explore some sexy self care ideas to get you ready for the fall! Here are my top suggestions for taking your self care to the next level.
1. Wear something your sexy super hero would love.
For me this is a pair of boots, a dramatic lip color, and a plunging neckline. But there are so many options. The most important thing is to find what makes you feel sexy and empowered. Is that a tailored blouse, a set of matching lingerie, or a pair of glasses and a top bun? Put on something that makes you feel alive, and fall in love with yourself all over again.
2. Take a long bath
I am the first person to tell you, putting down my to do list in favor of sitting still is a hard ask for me to accomplish. But every time I do, it’s rewarding. So, put aside the hesitation and fill that bath with bubbles and drop in a bath bomb. Wait for the room to smell heavenly, and let yourself relax.
3. Buy yourself a treat
Treat yo Self. Yeah, you heard me. Go ahead and spoil yourself. Find something you want, and let yourself have it. A treat. A new blood red lipstick, a pair of black lace stilettos, a box of macaroons, or even a book. Something that makes you feel special. A gift to yourself, because you’re worth it.
Because, you are worth it. You’re beautiful and amazing, and you deserve to have something fun every now and then.
4. Get yourself new, sexy lingerie
Do I even need to go on? Every one feels sexy, classy, and amazing when they have new lingerie to wear. But if you don’t know where to start, take a look here.
5. Try to make something for yourself
Not everyone loves the do-it-yourself stuff, but there are dozens of easy things you can make that are good for you. That will help you take care of yourself. Look up a lip scrub recipe (coconut oil and brown sugar). Find a way to make homemade bath bombs. Make yourself a nutritious meal. Or even just a list of affirmations that will remind yourself of who you are becoming. Create something that serves no one else but yourself, and embrace it.
Be a little selfish with your time. Read a book. Knit something. Go on a hike. Or just take a nap. Do something with your time, without feeling guilty about it.
7. Lean into your passions.
What do you love? What makes you happy? Figure out what that is, and pursue it.
8. And Finally, try something new, something scary, something you’ve always wanted to do, but have always been scared to actually try. Get Wildly Uncomfortable!
Go skydiving. Book a Boudoir Shoot. Or take a Pole Dance fitness class. Find something you’d love to do, and do it.
